Townsend's Chipmunk

Townsend's Chipmunk

The most common of the four species of chipmunk indigenous to Washington state, this Townsend's chipmunk forages along the trail. He was posing for me for a bit, probably looking for a handout, but found some seeds in a pinecone after I wouldn't relent to his antics.

Baby Alpine Tree

This little larch was so adorable with its little crooked trunk. When they are young, they are completely burried by snow. They continue to grow spiraling through the snow reaching towards the sunlight.
